Florida Stuff 5

          Is that a golf ball?             Yes, it is.
          What's that place?             It's called the Epcot Center.
          Where is it?                      It's in Orlando, Florida.
          What kind of a place is it?  It's an amusement park.
          Can we go there?              Yes, Let's go
                               
          The Epcot is a theme park. The theme is international culture
          and technology. It was built in 1982. Last year, over 11 million
          people visited the park. There are different places to visit. Like,
          Spacecraft Earth and Nemo and Friends. Let's get the family
         and go to the Epcot for the day. Epcot is part of Disney world.

     What kind of a bird is that?   It's a cormorant.
      What's a cormorant?            It's a diving bird.
What's that in its' mouth?       That's a fish.
           How did it catch the fish?     It dove in the water.
         Does this bird live in Florida?        Yes, it does. 

The cormorant is a local diving bird in Florida. This
bird will swim under the water to catch fish. Another
name for this bird is 'shag.' There are over 40 kinds
of cormorant. All are fish eaters. They will also eat
eels and water snakes.

Where is it?                              It's in Northern Florida.
How do I get there?                           Fly to Orlando. 
What's there to do?        There are lot's of things to do.
Where's there to go?       There are many places to go.

St. Augustine is the oldest city in America. It was founded
in 1565 by the Spanish. It's a coastal city. There is an old
Spanish fort there. There are a lot of restaurants in the city.
St. Augustine is the headquarters of the Florida National
Guard.

          What's he doing?                   He catching Alligators.
          How many can he catch?       He can catch 2.
          Is it difficult?                          Catching gators is easy
          Where did he catch it?            He caught it in the swamp.
          What's he going to do with it?  He will eat it.

         Alligator hunting is legal in Florida. A permit costs about
         $200. A hunter must take educational classes before
         hunting the alligator. One hunter may only take 2 gators.
         Don't worry. There are many alligators. There are over
         1 million in Florida.
