Wildfires are burning California.
The fire broke out suddenly two days ago.
The fires are in southern California.

That's an amazing picture.
It was taken at a traffic stop.

Airplanes to the rescue.
That plane is dropping a fire retardent.

This house is ruined.
It couldn't be saved.

Florida Fish

Take a look at these pictures please.
These are some of the more popular fish in Florida.
Everybody wants to catch these fish.
Including me.
When fishing in Florida make sure you have a fishing license.
Florida is very strict about this.

Pompano コバンアジ

We catch this one close to the shore off the beach.
The main bait is a sand flea.
Sand fleas can be bought or caught on the beach.
Pompano is a good fish.
This is only caught in the ocean.
The pompano is silver in color and toothless.
It can weigh up to 3 kg.

Bluefish アミキリ

Look at that! It's a school of bluefish.
There are some nice fish here.
Bluefish is popular with fishermen.
This is an inlet or ocean fish.
This fish is also known as a 'snapper'.
It can live in all climates.
It's blue and grey in color.

Snook アカメ

This fish is king.
Everybody wants to catch this fish.
It's a restaurant quality fish.
The state of Florida regulates this fish closely.
Snook can be found everywhere.
But it's a difficult fish to catch.
There are 4 species of snook.
This one is the common snook.
Tarpon, another popular game fish, is also a snook.

Sea Trout マス

This is another excellent fish.
I had this fish for dinner recently.
I also had it as sashimi. It was very good.
Yummy, yummy, we can catch this fish anywhere.
This is also called the brown trout.
The sea trout lays its' eggs in fresh water.
After, it returns to the ocean.
It's like a salmon.

Sea Frog Fish カエルサカナ

This is an odd fish.
It's half fish and half frog.
We can catch this 'frog fish' anywhere.
It's delicious, it tastes like chicken.
(By the way-that's a frog, not a fish, fooled you.)

            It's called a spiny boxfish.
This fish is native to Flroida.
            It adapts to it's environment.
This fish lives in the seagrass.

Sunday

I hooked a catfish.
There are a lot of them around here.
This one is medium size.
I caught 4 'cats' today.

The fish is fighting to escape.
It quickly became tired.
In the end, I  released it.
Catfish are difficult to clean and prepare.
