St Augustine Florida

St Augustine is the oldest city in Florida.
In fact, it's the oldest post-Columbian building in the Americas.
The Americas - include North,Central and South America.
The picture below is of the city hall.

This is the entrance to the 'Alligator Park.'
For a small fee, we can see many alligaotrs.
Don't forget to stop at the gift shop.

I like this picture.
It was taken in the St. Augustine area.

Here's the old Spanish fort.
It's called Castillo San Mar.
It was built in 1565.
That's the year St. Augustine was founded.
It was Ponce de Leon who first came to this area.
He discovered Florida in 1513.

This is the bridge going to the city.
There are a lot of old buildings here.
It's an interesting city.
I had a chance to visit it once.
Someday, I want to go to St. Augustine again.
Who is St. Augustine named after? Does anyone know?
It's a small city.
The population is only about 12,000.
