Florida is known as a warm place.
But even in the winter we can get frost and freezing weather.
The entire east and mid-west of the US has suffered a big
snow storm. Speaking of suffering, the Florida citrus industry is.
Agriculture in Florida is second only to tourism.
Here are some ways people try to protect their plants.
In the picture above, the plants are covered.
This works for homeowners but is impractical for
the citrus industry.
Helicopters are used to push warm air down to the crops.
But we can see what happens to helicopters sometimes.
Recently, 3 'copters' crashed in one evening.
The cold weather can make things very pretty.
But cold weather is not welcome in Florida.
I may have to move farther south.
Here is another airplane about to help save the oranges.
Actually, that's a very old airplane. It has nothing to do with
today's article. I just wanted to teach you the sentence.
It has nothing to do with (something).
Does anybody know who built this ancient airplane?
Have a nice day!
