Draw bridge 跳ね橋 First the bridge goes up...! Causeway 土手道

And now the boat with the big mast passes through.
I was riding my bike to the Inlet park when suddenly
the bridge started to go up.
It didn't go up very fast but...maybe it took 1 minute.
There was a man in the control room. He operated the bridge.
A tall masted fishing boat needed to pass under the causeway
After the boat passes under, he lowered the bridge back into place.
Once the bridge was back in position, I continued on my way over the causeway.
I wouldn't want to fall in. Would you? There might be big fish in the water.

As we enter the park, we see the conditions are yellow today.
It means to be careful. Does anyone remember what blue flag is?

It's me. Hi, everyone. This is the entrance.
 It's a 2 dollar fee to enter.

Here it is. The mangrove like tunnel. This is nice.
I like it. It's cool under the trees, too.
What's this? A bobcat crossing? We will see this sign tomorrow.

Part 4- Ft. Pierce Inlet State Park. What does "Inlet" mean in Japanese?

This is a really nice beach. And, it's easy to find.
It's on the right hand side of the road.
Let's take a look at some ot the sights we are going to see
inside the park.
Inlet means 入り江 in Japanese.
That's cool! Isn't it nice? I can see a boat. Can you see it?
This is a nice beach. Those are picnic tables under the palm trees.
Do you want to stop and eat?

What is this? This is really, really cool. It's like a mangrove tunnel.
I took the picture. It was cool here in the shade. That's it for day.
(really, really cool- とくに素晴らしい, It was cool- 涼しかった)
Tunnel"s pronunciation is "Ton- nall" not トンネル、

I'll continue going west.

There it is! That's what I'm looking for! It's an observation tower.
I'm going up to take a picture.

That's a nice view! All mangroves. I need a boat.

Who's that up there? It's me, Michael. It's hard to see.
Because the sun is behind me.

Jack's Island- Part 2

This is a mangrove preserve. There are no bathrooms here.
Just service roads and observation towers.
But first we need to find the entrance.
Where's the entrance? There it is.
Look at the picture below.
We have to cross over the water using this bridge.

Lots of mangrove, maybe good fishing there.

That's cool. This is called Spanish moss.サルオガセモドキ

Hey What's that? An alligator? I don't think so. This water is brackish.
Do you remember brackish? That's right it means 半塩水。Alligator don't like this water.

Ft. Pierce Inlet State Park フロリダ州の自然保護公園 Part 1

Wow, another exciting place to go to. This is a state park and a nature preserve(自然保護地域). This park is divided in 2 areas. Let's look at the map.

Look for Shorewinds Dr. right in the middle of the map.
Did you find it? It runs from east to west.
The green area to the north is "Jack's Island",
to the south of the road is "Dynamite Point".
Let's go visit Jack's Island, first.
Cross the causeway. Then turn left on A1A.

Look at that small sign! That's it. Why is this entrance so hidden?
Well,quickly turn to the left.

OK, I found it! This is it. It was hard to find. We are about to enter a mangrove eco-system (マングローブ湿地帯). This going to be exciting. Please read Part 2 Tomorrow. See you!
